Hopefully any of your outstanding questions regarding guitar lessons will be answered on this webpage.

WHAT SLOTS DO YOU HAVE AVAILABLE?

I’m very flexible and can teach from 9am – 10pm most days (unless I’m booked). Please complete a booking form and explain when would be most convenient to book a lesson. I’ll then match that with my schedule and let you know what I have available. I also have weekly, fortnightly and monthly slots available if you are looking to get serious and become a regular!

WHERE IS THE LESSON HELD?

Learn in the comfort of your own home whilst I take the time to travel to you. If you would much rather travel to me, please mention this when you are completing a booking form.

WHAT DISTANCE DO YOU COVER?

I currently have students all over Plymouth, Saltash, Tavistock, and Ivybridge. Please check the region map if you are unsure whether or not I cover your area. I also offer Skype lessons for those of you who are too far.

DO YOU CHARGE EXTRA FOR FUEL & TRAVEL?

This depends on where you live. Please refer to the region map and check what region you are in. If you are within Region 1 there will be no extra fee’s. If you are within Regions 2, 3, 4, or 5, there will be a small excess charge ontop of the lesson price. Please check here for more details.

DO I HAVE TO BE ABLE TO READ MUSIC?

Not at all. Many guitarist use tablature to read, which will normally be on your handout after each lesson. I will always run through this with you, and I promise that its really simple. If preferred I can also teach how to read notation, although most of the material that I give out is in tablature form.

WHAT DO I NEED FOR MY LESSON?

Just a Guitar! Anything else you might need, I can supply.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I HAVE A LESSON?

This really depends on how quick a learner you are, and how much time you can put into practice. Most people book an hour slot every fortnight at a fixed time making it easy to get into a routine. You may however decide that you would like lessons more frequent if you’re a fast learner. Otherwise less frequent if you need the time. If you’re a shift worker and cannot stick to a routinely timeslot, I can certainly do my best to fit you in as and when you are available.

AM I TOO OLD TO LEARN GUITAR?

No way! No excuses, anyone can learn. I’ve taught many students of all ages and have never met one who is incapable to learn. As long as you’re willing to learn, you’ll sail through the tasks that I set you.

CAN I CANCEL OR CHANGE MY LESSON AT ANY POINT?

Please check the Terms & Conditions for my policy on cancellations.

DO I HAVE TO OWN A GUITAR?

Ideally yes. On rare instances I can provide a guitar, although its preferable that you have your own, as you wont be able to practice at home and get the most out of your lessons.

HOW DO I PAY FOR LESSONS?

If you are within Region 1 you will be required to pay at the end of your lesson by either Cash, Card, or Cheque. If you are outside of Region 1 you will be required to pay at the end of your FIRST lesson by either Cash, Card, or Cheque. You will then be required to pay for your next lessons in advance from here-on. Skype students will also be required to pay for their lessons a minimum of 48 hours before their lesson time.

CAN I PURCHASE A GIFT VOUCHER?

You sure can, click this link for more information.

HOW WILL I REMEMBER WHAT WE GO THROUGH IN A LESSON?

Everything that we cover throughout the lessons will be given to you on a printout, normally tablature. We will always run through the printouts to make sure that you understand everything thats been written. Skype students will receive an e-copy of the printouts.

WHAT IF I GET STUCK BETWEEN LESSONS?

You’re always very welcome to get hold of me via phone, text, or email. I’ll do my best to respond pronto.

CAN I SIT IN THE LESSON WITH MY CHILD?

Not a problem. Parents are welcome to sit in on the lesson with their child at all times or until the child is happy on their own.
